Tour name: The land of thousand views Highlights of tour: Dushanbe, Iskanderkul, Sevel Lakes, Penjakent, Jartepo. Day 1: Dushabe - Hissor - Dushanbe The first day of your tour you will start from Hissor fortress. It's situated 35km away from the capital Dushanbe. Hissor fortress (VII-XVII centuries) had a citadel and was well protected by the thick walls with the loopholes for the guns and the cannons. It was residence for the surrounds of the Emir of Bukhara. Inside the fortress was a pool with garden and the market square in front of it, with the shops and caravan serai. Nowadays we see just the entrance gate with two towers. The rest have not been survived. Few more interesting things are in Hissor like recently restored Madrasa I Kuhna, mosque and the mausoleum of Mahdumi Azam (16th century). Then we will return to Dushanbe for lunch and some city tour. We will visit the Botanival garden and Victory Park with a wonderful view of the city. The night is in the hotel. Day 2: Dushanbe - Ramit - Dushanbe This day we will visit the Ramit gorge, with its natural reserve "ramit", which was made by the Government of Tajik SSR in 1959. It's located 80km away from Dushanbe near the town Vahdat. The altitude of the reservoir starts from 1176-3195m, on the slope of Hissor range. There is a river running in the middle of the gorge Ramit, that has the same with a gorge. The area is very rich with a flora and fauna, even the trout fish was found in the river Ramit. The diversity of the herbs is astonishing. There is a good chance to see mountain goats, wild boars and many other species of the animals and birds. The main important achievement of this reservoir is an artificial Bukhara deer. That was created by the locals. Day 3: Dushanbe - Iskanderkul Lake This day we will dedicate to the one of the best lakes in Central Asia. The high mountain lake called Iskanderkul (2 255m), which is the the Fann Mountains. We will drive through the pass Anzob (3 372m). We will have a breathtaking view of surroundings. Upon arrival to the lake we will have a short walk on the shore and hike 40 minutes until the waterfall. Tajikistan has a big volume of water resources in whole Central Asia. That makes it the second country among the CIS countries. There are more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8 000 glaciers. The night is in the homestay. Day 4: Iskanderkul Lake Today is a day of hiking at the Fann Mountains. This mountains were called Kuhistan in the ancient times. Kuhistan means " Mountainous country" from the farsi language. There are many lakes of different size and shapes in the small territory of the Fanns. Nowadays the Fanns are very popular place to do trekking and hiking among the tourist and the locals. This places had a variety of the unique plants and animals. You will have a free time to enjoy and admire the beauties of this area. The night is in the homestay. Day 5: Iskanderkul Lake - Seven Lakes Today we will to the Fann Mountain. The road we will go through the pass Shahriston (3 378m). This area is very popular hiking area in Central Asia. We will have a day trip to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), it's 60km to the south of Penjikent. We will do some hiking to the Sevel Lakes, the road goes along a gorge. The lakes are situated on the various altitudes and each of them has its own color. We will have a chance to meet the local people who live there. It will be wonderful to see their lifestyle. The night is in the homestay. Day 6: Seven Lakes - Penjakent This day we will drive to Penjakent, the city is located in Khujant area of Tajikistan, in between the wonderful valley of Zeravshan river. Can be that these five villages have started the history of this city. It was dating back to the 5th -8th centuries AD. Penjikent was one of the main cultural and crafts center of Sogd. Unofficial name was "Central Asia Pompei". It was very good planed city with the palace of the ruler, two temples, markets, rich decorated houses with many paintings, wooden and clay figurines of the ancient Gods and the markets. The city was protected very well. The remains of the city were found just in XX century. Now we can see just some part of the city like dwelling houses, buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen and fire worshipers church. The night is in the hotel. Day 7: Jartepo border In the morning is transfer to uzbek border.
