Cultural tour 3 Destination: Kyrgyzstan Activity: Cultural tour Duration: 7 days Places to visit: Torugart - Tash Rabat Caravanserai - Son Kul - Bishkek - Ala Archa - Bishkek This short tour is for travelers who have transit from Torugart pass on Chinese-Kyrgyz border and then to Bishkek city. Almost the main part of the tour you will have a chance to visit the hidden sites that are far enough from civilization. You will see ancient gloomy caravanserai that is hidden in very heart of a mountain and also you will have time to enjoy the calm atmosphere of godlike Son Kul Lake. Tour summary:
Day 1: Torugart - Tash Rabat Caravanserai (Stone castle) Your guide meets you at Torugart pass and from there you will be driven to the Tash Rabat - legendary Caravanserai on the Great Silk Road (Stone Castle from the 14th century). This is massive gloomy building with no analogue in the whole world, because it was made of stones inside a mountain at a height 3200 m a.s.l. There are 31 rooms with walls 1 m thick. There are also underground prison cells for ancient pilferers. Traditional dinner will be served at 7 p.m. You will spend the night in yurts near by the Tash Rabat caravanserai. Day 2: Tash Rabat - Son Kul Lake After breakfast we start drive to Son Kul Lake (the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan). Lunch will be taken on the way. The altitude of Son Kul Lake is 3013 meters above sea level, it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan. Since ancient times Kyrgyz nomads used to come to this amazing area with their families for rest and relaxation. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in yurts. It is original nomad's dwelling that is gorgeous ornamented inside and covered by white felt. Day 3: Son Kul (3013m. above sea level) After long and nice sleep you have free day at Son-Kul Lake, when you will explore and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings on your own. Lunch will be served at 2 pm. Then you will walk or ride a horse to ancient petrogliphs and ritual stones of shamans. It is a great opportunity to get acquainted with nomadic traditional culture. National dinner will be served in yurts. You will spend the night in yurts as nomads do. Day 4: Son Kul Today you can have a short hike along the lake or to walk around your yurts camp. During a day you will understand meaning of silence and freedom from the chaos of civilization. There is no traffic, TV set, radio, crowds of people... it is a perfect opportunity to feel the power and peace of the eternal nature... Day 5: Son Kul - Bishkek Day starts with a traditional breakfast at 8 o'clock. Then you will be transferred back to Bishkek city. On the trip visiting of Burana Tower (minaret of the Karahanids' city) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). When you will come in Bishkek you will have a city tour. At 7 pm a farewell dinner is served. Night is in a hotel***. Day 6: Bishkek - Ala Archa - Bishkek This day you will visit National Park Ala-Archa to have a fascinating excursion. This park is situated in the Ala-Archa gorge in 45 km from Bishkek. The average altitude of the gorge is 2100 m above sea level and it is one of the most picturesque and favorite gorges in Kyrgyzstan. There are eternal green forests of juniper and fir tree, sparkling mountain river, waterfall and snow white peaks that are possible to be seen from a far distance. You will have a treck to Ak-Sai falls, about 5-6 hours. From your path you can see the highest peak of the Kyrgyz range - Ala-Archa peak (4000 m). A lunch will be near falls. After visiting the falls we will descent to the gorge Ala-Archa and return to Bishkek. You will spend the night in a hotel***.
Day 7: Bishkek - Tashkent Your guide will meet you in Hotel and attend you to Manas International Airport at the time arranged according to your tickets.
