Tour name: Dizzying beauty Highlights of tour: Dushanbe, Kalai Khum, Rushan, Jizew, Khorog, Pamir Mountains. Day 1: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe You will arrive to Dushanbe airport and will meet your driver. Transfer Hissor fortress (VII-XVII centuries). The fortress has citadel and was used as a residence of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara. The fortress was located on the hill and had a thick wall. On the wall it had the loopholes for guns and cannons. Inside it was well planned fortress. There was a pool and garden, market square with a caravan serai and shops. Nowadays we can see just the entrance gate with two towers, the rest was not survived. The other sites of Hissor are the mausoleum of Mahdumi Azam (16th century), mosque and recently restored monuments of Madrasa I Kuhna. Then we will return to Dushanbe for lunch and visit Botanical garden and Victory Park. In the park we will enjoy the panoramic view to the city. The night is in the hotel. Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum This day we will go to visit Kalai Khun village. The Norak water reservoir will be on the way, local people call it also Tajik Sea. We will pass the highest point of the day which is Sharaba pass (2 267m). And then we will drive along Afghan border. It's a territory of Pamir Mountains. It's amazing and unique area that will conquer you with its beauty. Many centuries this area was attracting the most known travellers like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. And you will understand why?! The road will go along the natural border Pyanj River. Many people call this huge mountain system "the ocean of white and blue mountains". This night will be a home stay. Day 3: Kalai Khum - Rushan Today we will drive 10km away from Kalai Khum village to Rushan. On the way we will visit ancient fortress. This fortress has been restored in 2013, and dating back to 3rd century. Then we will continue to drive and we will see many afghan villgaes on the other side of the river Panj. Rushan is the first area with the Pamirians. Pamirians are the people who live in the Pamir Mountains. Most of them are with blue eyes and blonde hair. They have totally different lifestyle than the Tajiks. They still keep their language, tradition and religion. The night is in the homestay. Day 4: Rushan - Bartang Valley - Trek to Jizew Today we will still exploring the Pamir Area. We will drive to Bartang valley which is one of the wild and unforgettable valleys in the Pamirs. Even the Pamir people consider Bartang valley as the most prototypical region of their motherland. The people from the Upper Bartang have a respect to the Bartangs due to the hard life conditions in which they live. That doesn't have anything common with inhabitants of Khorog. And they are also amused of the old traditions that they still keep in that remote region. We will have a trek to Jizew valley to fell the real life on the mountains. The night is in the local house. Day 5: Jizew - Rushan - Khorog In the morning we will drive to Khorog. It's the tiniest city on the map, due to the mountains surrounding the city. The city is on the meeting point of three rivers like Shokhdara, Ghund and Pyanj. Also on the way to Khorog we will meet the Pamir people. The pamirs are different from the Tajik people, according to the anthropological features. The Pamir people mostly have the blue eyes and blonde hair. The Pamir Mountains are the highest mountains with human being after Himalayas in Tibet. The mountain lifestyle made the Pamirs different from the Tajik people. The night is in the hotel. Day 6: Khorog Today is day that we will dedicate to the city tour in Khorog. The first site we will visit will be a Botanical Garden, because the city has many gardens around. On the Shakhdara river which is on the east part of the city (2320m), we will visit a renowned Botanical garden which has unique plants from different parts of the world. Then we will visit a city park and handy craft shop and museum. And the end of the tour day we will visit a local bazaar. The night is in the hotel. Day 7: Khorog - Kalai Khum Today we will drive from Khorog to Kalai Khum. We will do the same road as we did before. The road goes across the mountains higher than 6 000 meters and that's why it was possible to build just one road. The way through the Pamir let us not just enjoy the incredible beauty if the nature but also learn more about the culture, ethnography and history. We will stop in one of the villages to meet with local people and talk with them. There are the constructions on the both sides of the river, other side of the river is already Afghan territory. The night is in the homestay. Day 8: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe The last tour day we will drive to Dushanbe, going through the mountain road. On the way we will cross over the high Khoburubot Pass (3 252m), also known as Western Pamir Tract. The road will be breathtakingly beautiful, numerous rivers and gorges. We will stop for some pictures. Also we will meet local inhabitants. Tajik people are very kind, hospitable and hard-workers. They respect their traditions and folklore. If you like exotics, ethnics, cultural diversity and virgin wild nature than you will be amazed by this trip. The dinner will be in of the restaurants of Dushanbe. The night is in the hotel. Day 9: Flight In the morning is transfer to airport.
