Shades of Turkmenistan

Day 1: Ashgabat
You will meet your guide at the airport of Ashgabat and will start a city tour. At first you will go to visit Nisa fortress. The times when Parthian Empire was very strong, Old Nisa had a different name. It was called after the king of that times Mitridate I (171-138BC), he was a founder of this city. Mitridatkert city was an old name of Nisa. Then the capital was moved to Asia Minor, but Old Nisa retained the importance. The tombs of the ruling Arsacids dynasty are there. Then we will go to visit the biggest mosque in Central Asia called Turkmenbashy Mosque. This mosque can accommodate more than 10 000 people at the same time. Then we will drive toward Gokdepe horse farm, we will see the most beautiful breed that exist in the world. The Akhal Teke horse is still remaining the on the top of the horse breeds. Then we will return to the city for dinner. After dinner we will visit Independence Park of Ashgabat and the Palace of Happiness. A wonderful panoramic view opens from the top of the palace. The night is in the hotel.

Day 2: Ashgabat - Darwaza - Dashoguz
This day we will drive 266km to the north of Ashgabat. We will go to see a Darwaza gas crater "Door of hell"( also the Gate to Hell or Grater of fire). Gas crater is incredible in its own, the burning flame in the desert is glamorous and amusing. No one have any idea how this magic appears. Then we will drive to Dashoguz town. The night is in the hotel.

Day 3: Dashoguz - Kune Urgench - Khojeili border
This day we will go to visit a historical place called Kone-Urgench. We will drive 480 km to the north from Ashgabat. Kone-Urgench is an architectural reserve, which was an ancient capital of Northern Khorezm in the Ist century AD. In the 8^th century this city was conquered by the Arabs and it was renamed to Gurgandzh. In 995 it became a residence of Khorezm Shah and the second biggest city after Bukhara. Bukhara that times was capital of Samanid Empire. Then we will have our last lunch in Turkmenistan and drive the Khojeili border. It will be the end of the tour in Turkmenistan.
